Pharmacists celebrate 40 years of SNS

“Health for All" is the central message of the event that will bring together pharmacists from all over the country, on October 31st, in the city of Porto. The objective is to reflect on the past, present and future of what is unanimously considered the greatest achievement of Portuguese democracy: the National Health Service (SNS).

40 years of SNS

The Order of Pharmacists assumed the coordination of the organization of this event, where organizations representing citizens and patients are also involved: OF, Adiafa, AFP, ANF, APAC, APEF, APJF, MAIS PARTICIPAÇÃO Melhor Saúde and Plataforma Saúde em Dialogo. The president of the Board of Directors of Centro Hospitalar de São João, Fernando Araújo, opens the session with the theme “SNS 40 Years. What Now?”. Two debate panels follow with the participation of patient representatives, health professionals, hospital administrators and association leaders and the day ends with the launch of the book “Roteiros Farmacêuticos”, which portrays the various visits and contacts of thePresident of the Order of Pharmacists, Ana Paula Martins, during his first term, with hundreds of pharmacists spread across the country, and from multiple professional areas, as well as countless users of health services, which make evident the important social role of these professionals in the health system.
