Dental office decoration

In fact, the decoration of a dental office must follow strict hygiene and management rules. However, that doesn't mean it has to be boring or too simple.

Many professionals have difficulty dealing with the issue of design, as the space needs to be 100% functional.

At MEDD we develop projects that combine functionality and aesthetics, providing a completely different and customer-oriented environment.

Use design to your advantage: create environments capable of helping to calm your patient.

What should a dental office be decorated like?

When we talk about decorating dental offices, we are not talking exclusively about decorations, paintings and other elements that can be added to an environment. We also talk about small details, such as the colors of the walls, the blinds, the textures of the floor, among other elements.

Remember that your patient is a user of this space and that the place influences us. A calming environment helps reduce stress levels and can even make your patient feel more comfortable with you than with another professional.

For this reason, it is interesting to choose a good color palette. It is common to find clinics and offices that are all white. This is the option for those who are afraid to take risks with colors. However, a little color can make all the difference in your business!

Blue tones, for example, encourage confidence, while green tones are calming. However, it is advisable to harmonize the colors of your office design with the visual identity of your brand.

You can also deviate a little from the commonplace and opt for nude or light brown tones. They encourage security and generate positive energy. Plus, they're easy to combine.

Decorations, wallpaper and pictures for offices

For technical reasons from the Health Regulatory Authority (ERS), the infrastructure of clinics must comply with standards. This means that the placement of decorative accessories and paintings inside your office can result in problems, as they generate dust and dirt agglomeration.

Leave these elements for your reception or waiting room. Your waiting room can contain paintings, plants or other decorative items. Inside the office, the finishes should allow for maintaining a high level of hygiene, so forget about elaborate walls and difficult-to-clean wallpapers.

Tables inside the office are permitted as long as they comply with ERS specifications. Still, we do not recommend placing pictures about dental problems in the patient's line of sight. Nobody likes reading about gingivitis while being examined by a dentist.

Also think about children, especially if they are your target audience. A good idea is to make toys available in waiting rooms and have inspiring and cheerful paintings in your office. This way, the kids won’t even notice they’re at the dentist!

And the lighting?

Lighting is a crucial point in offices. With lighting we create an image of cleanliness, clarity and even confidence.

Investing in natural light is always a good idea. However, not all places allow entry. In this case, we can create effects with artificial lighting.
