The power of curves in pharmacy design!
Good Interior Design is a differentiating factor for any business. In pharmacies, in addition to improving the user experience, it increases employee satisfaction levels, helping to minimize turnover rates. However, to be successful, pharmacy design must consider fundamental elements such as lines and shapes. Discover, in this article, the power of curves in pharmacy design!
What to consider before defining the pharmacy layout?
Before setting thepharmacy layout, the architect must necessarily consider the available space and the objective established for it. NodeInterior Design, space can be divided into two categories: positive and negative space. While positive space concerns the space that is occupied by furniture and equipment, negative space is that which is “open”. Therefore, for pharmacy design to be successful, it is necessary to find a balance between these two spaces. This balance must be defined by the needs of the owner, the activity and the area worked.
Likewise, it's true that different types of design suit different types of spaces. That is, aminimalist designwill have a lot more negative space than an eclectic design. However, regardless of the style orvisual identityof the pharmacy, it is important to make the most of the space, by defining a functional design. Which means that dominant lines and shapes are extremely important aspects!
The importance of lines in pharmacy design
Horizontal, vertical and dynamic lines allow you to guide the user's gaze and increase the consumption rate. In pharmacy layout, horizontal lines are typically used to create a sense of stability, efficiency and formality. They are generally explored through the creation and respective positioning of shelves, gondolasand linear, but they are not! The selection offlooring, the characteristics of the materials used or the design of theservice countersThey are also effective ways of giving width and spaciousness to the space.
On the other hand, vertical lines are usually defined using structural elements such as pillars or columns, and can be reinforced by decorative elements such as panels, wallpaper or mirrors. From a functional point of view, they offer an illusion of altitude to the space and must therefore be defined wisely, otherwise it is possible to create constraints that make the space visually dysfunctional.
Finally, we have the so-called dynamic lines. In other words: diagonal lines, zigzags or curved lines. These can be explored in pharmacy design through the use of an architecture dominated by continuous and curvilinear forms or through the installation ofcustom-made technical furnitureor stairs, for example. As points of visual interest, dynamic lines give vitality and grace to the pharmacy space.

The power of curves in pharmacy design
In pharmacy design, curves have the ability to draw the user's attention to a focal point and make the space more inviting and welcoming. Curved furniture, such as gondolas, tables or sofas, evoke feelings of relaxation that make the pharmacy user feel immediately comfortable.
On the other hand, artificial lighting elements, such as lamps and curved lamps, combine well with the straight lines of the structural elements present in the space, creating truly interesting environments.
When used well, curved lines can also improve the flow of users in the pharmacy, eliminating less attractive corners and corners. Here, they are often used to connect different service or consumption areas, in a subtle and pleasant way. But pay attention! You need to know how to use them, otherwise you risk wasting valuable space.
